Artwork Portfolio
My work begins by gathering information about my story. I take photos, collect images, do drawings about the things I want to talk about. I put them all up & start piecing together my ideas. My stories are narrative and often autobiographical. I like to address color, texture and motion.

I choose to work in different mediums so I can look at my stories in different ways. I love the starkness and motion that the block prints have -- it is such a bold story. I prefer to do my block prints in one color for this reason.

In my paintings, for the opposite reason, I love the layers - every stroke and color evokes some sort of feeling. I like that you can't really see it all at once, that you need to look and think, to see....

In all my work, I love that magic that happens between the idea and the final image. Often times I just let the work guide me.
